Effective June 15, 2026, Anthropic has formally implemented a new system that splits the usage allowance for subscription members into two pools: an "Interactive Usage Pool" and a Programmatic Usage Credit pool. The scope covers programmatic calls made via the Agent SDK, the claude -p CLI, and Claude Code. Monthly credit limits are set per plan: Pro at $20, Max 5x at $100, and Max 20x at $200.
When the credit limit is reached, processing stops automatically by default and no overage charges are incurred. There is no rollover — balances reset at the end of each month.
